My Story
At the age of 17 years in 2036 B.S. I started to learn about photography. That time I was studying and started learning at other’s house.
Then in 2040 B.S. I opened my own studio by myself. At that time there was no trend of photography so I only provided service of B/W photo service.
My customer liked the photos I made because I used to edit the negatives manually by giving a touch to make it look better. My hard work paid me off as many people used to come wanting to take photos with me only. This is how my studio flourished in a short period of time. I was so busy that I used to make photos till late night and sometimes till 4 am of another day.
Then with photography, I also started doing videograpy then and slowly video mixing/ casting and editing. Now we provide quick photo service, video editing/casting, photocopying, mixing, and many more. In spite of being the owner of my own studio, I also used to be an outdoor photographer as well as videographer.
History
The photography in Pokhara started in a professional way just about half a century ago in 1960A.D. Before that only the person who was keen on photography used to do photography as their hobby. The first photo studio opened in Pokhara was “Narayan Photographer” in 1960 by Khem Narayan Shrestha. Since then, few more studios were opened until the opening of our own “Photo Everest”.
Talking about the work experience, I first entered the photography field at the age of 17. I learnt photography and worked in a photo studio called Photo Sansar (now transformed into a colour lab). I worked there for a few years (from 1879-1883) to gain enough knowledge & experience and open my own Photo Studio. In 11th August 1983, I inaugurated my own Photo Studio naming it as
“PHOTO EVEREST”. I provided only black & white photo service as there was no colour photosystem in Pokhara then.
By then we used to print out a photo with the help of chemicals for the printout. It was a long process which used to take half of the days to print out/make a photo. But now with the evolution of science/technology, today’s photos are all of digital system and quality. Nowadays, we provide quick photo service. There is a digital system applied in both photography as well as videography.
